A caregiver workshop was held on Saturday the 11th of June 2022 at Sinethemba Special Care Centre. This workshop covered the topic of Cerebral Palsy (CP) and other similar neurological conditions with a focus on positioning, equipment and management of common problems that these children have, such as respiratory infections. The course was presented by Micaela Wedderburn, the Physiotherapist and Progrmamme Implementer of Sinethemba.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the caregivers of these children to engage and ask questions about problems that they face on a daily basis and to connect with other caregivers who look after children with similar conditions. Practical techniques were demonstrated for the caregivers so that they could learn how to do this at home with their child. We hope to run more of these workshops in the future!
